The COBRA Connection – New Blu-ray Releases for November 22, 2016

Cult Of Blu-Ray Addicts
The COBRA Connection is the connection for your collection! A niche-focused listing of new and exclusive domestic (US) Blu-ray releases. There are a lot of sites out there that list the major new releases, but we’re more interested in more collectable fare such as retailer exclusives, boutique distributors, limited editions, and the “best” editions of any particular new release. We’re Blu-ray focused but may include the odd DVD. Links point to Amazon where applicable or retailer/distributor websites as needed.

It’s Black Friday week, traditionally light on new releases but there’s a surprising amount of cool stuff to hit your wallet.

Best Buy is debuting the 4K box set of the Hunger Games franchise, while Target has an exclusive Steelbook of War Dogs.

Shout Factory boasts directorial prowess with Cronenberg’s Rabid and Friedkin’s To Live And Die In LA. We’ll be posting reviews for both releases shortly.

CHUD and CHUD II are both hitting Blu-ray, but from different companies (Arrow Video and Lionsgate Vestron, respectively) in a weird little victory of bross-brand synergy. Its’s worth noting that both are limited editions.

Grindhouse Releasing is putting out their long-awaited I Drink Your Blood, which actually includes 2 more films as bonus features.

Vinegar Syndrome will be having their annual Black Friday event, in which they’ll avail an exclusive edition of Jack Frost with a lenticular cover, as well as two more as-yet secret Limited Edition releases.

Dorado Films is kicking off a lineup of rare Jess Franco films with a double-feature of The Silence of the Tomb and The Sinister Eyes of Doctor Orloff, also available in a limited numbered edition.

Other releases of note include Kubo and the Two Strings, Mechanic: Resurrection, 100 Rifles, Hell Or High Water, One-Eyed Jacks, The Squid And The Whale, I.T., and Yoga Hosers.
